The Avengers is what truly planted the seeds for the MCU and why it’s successful. Positives: - The movie is very satisfying because Phase 1 took a few superheroes, gave them their own film, and had a post credit scene setting something up. Everything was leading to this in Phase 1 - Seeing all of these superhero’s interact with each other still brings joy to my eyes - All of the superheroes are AWESOME!!! - The acting is great - Loki is a solid villain - The action is ABSOLUTE CINEMA!!! - The score is amazing - How every character is utilized in the story is very important - The movie is very quotable - This movie set up a lot that came afterwards - I have so much nostalgia for this film Mixed: - Some of the humour lands well some of it doesn’t but it doesn’t affect the movie in any way, shape, or form Overall The Avengers changed so many of our lives and is why I love Comic Book movies!

Now that it’s 2026, it’s incredibly refreshing to go back and watch this movie. Are there a few jokes? Of course. But they’re not out of place, and the film isn’t unrelenting with its quips. The moments that are meant to hit still hit. It still feels big. The action still slaps. And while it has its flaws, The Avengers is an all-around epic. An incredibly influential movie that deserves continued praise.

Iron Man put Marvel Studios on the map but it’s the Avengers that cemented them as a powerhouse in Hollywood. From after credit scenes to cameos to build up for future films it all led to this. The ultimate superhero crossover no one thought was possible. That is until the people at Marvel Studiod said, let’s just do it. Guided by the now infamous Joss Whedon, the story brought together Earth’s Mightest heroes in a climatic showdown against Loki. Everyone remembers where they were when the Avengers assembled for the first time as the camera panned around the entire team and the heroic Avengers theme hit its crescendo before the Avengers went into battle together, for the first time. I still get goosebumps thinking about it. This was Marvel at its peak. A seminal moment in cinematic history. I love the first Avengers movie and is the only one I’ll still sit down and watch all the way through if it’s on TV.

Currently in the middle of re-watching the MCU series and specific order toward the lead up to the Doomsday 2026 release. I think I’ve seen this movie a couple hundred times and it’s still refreshing but it also reminds me how much I do not like Josh Whedon. I can never put my finger on it, but it’s just he does stupid little things he doesn’t need to do in all of his movies. Mostly I think he’s squandered an amazing opportunity to direct the avengers and Justice league and just can’t keep his pervy little jokes out of everything. I think Marvel had a tighter leash on him.

The Avengers delivers a genuinely fantastic Hulk experience, capturing the essence of the characters while providing top-notch entertainment. It strikes a perfect balance that appeals to both comic book aficionados and casual fans, making it an A+ film for everyone.

Loved the story Loved the characters Love how they kept the story going Possibly my favourite mcu phase one movie Loved all the characters arcs and motives and developments especially Hulk’s character development. I watched it first when I was little in the cinema And recently rewatched it Awesome movie I love how realistic it was, even the part where the public hates the avengers for destroying their town. One of the best franchises ever made. Would highly recommend 10/10

8.4/10 The culmination of Phase One is great, with a good villain, iconic score motif, and general enjoyment, though it does at times feel like a direct-to-dvd movie, sometimes for the better.

The Avengers is still one of the most fun superhero movies ever made. The action is huge, the humor actually lands, and the chemistry between the cast is ridiculous in the best way. Loki steals every scene he’s in, and New York battle still goes hard. What really makes the movie special though is how perfectly it handles the team. Every character feels true to who they are, and somehow they all get their own moment to shine without it ever feeling forced or overcrowded. It’s one of the few ensemble movies where nobody feels wasted. Yeah, some of the CGI looks a little dated now and the story is pretty straightforward, but honestly none of that matters when the movie is this entertaining. Pure blockbuster magic.
