- The Nude Bomb
As someone who watched the original shown on DVD quite a lot as a kid, I was definitely aware of this film’s reputation going in. That said, I was pleasantly surprised by The Nude Bomb. Whit it isn’t nearly as good as the original Get Smart television series, it does have some truly fun moments that elevate it above being a bad film. While it’s a shame that certain notable characters from the series are missing here, in particular Agent 99, it is clear right from the start that Don Adams hadn’t lost a step between the conclusion of the show’s sixth season and the making of this movie. While a lot of the series’ staple jokes and one-liners are shoved into the script in a very clunky manner, Adams still nails the delivery and gave a wonderful performance when it came to the physical aspects of the comedy as well. Other sequences, like the desk chair chase, stand out as being genuinely funny and they do feel like a natural evolution of the show’s style. On the whole, while I wouldn’t say it’s great, I don’t their k The Nude Bomb is nearly as bad as a lot of people seem to, and it’s certainly miles better than the 2008 reboot film. The Nude Bomb - Haunted Hotel • Season 1
𝗔 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 While certainly rough around the edges, I think the first season of Netflix’s newest animated venture, 𝘏𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘏𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘭, did a great job at establishing a framework that the show can easily build off of going forward. The general atmosphere is very well done and the characters, or at least the main family, feel very realistic as to how they relate to each other. While I won’t go into spoilers here, the back third of the first season manages to go far more in-depth emotionally than I was expecting for this sort of show, with elements that make what each family member is going through feel incredibly realistic despite the outlandish settings. The show is also a nice break from the typical TV-14/TV-MA style in terms of how it is written. While each episode can stand fine on its own, there is noticeable emotional growth for each of the main characters that builds throughout the season, as opposed to a complete reset like most animated sitcoms have. With Netflix having a terrible track record when it comes to axing shows before they can really take off, I am very glad a second season of 𝘏𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘏𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘭 is on the way in late 2026.Haunted Hotel • Season 1 - Dio: Dreamers Never Die
This is by far the best documentary I have seen. It not only conveys the incredible and emotional story of metal's greatest vocalist, but does it with an extraordinary amount of style and visual flair. The number of musicians who showed up to be involved, from old bandmates to people he inspired, perfectly conveys how impactful Romnie really was. Aside from those who have sadly passed away, the only key players missing are Richie Blackmore and Vivian Campbell, which might be for the best, admittedly. The film doesn't hold anything back, showing the good and the bad of Romnie's life, along with the hope and joy he had right to the end. What she shows was perfect, showcasing the love she still carries for him and the way she keeps his legacy alive, even over a decade later. Visually, the film is a joy to behold, with some fantastic editing work and standout transition shots that seamlessly blend real footage with more modern shots. The sound, as you might expect, is absolutely on point. From the actual performance footage to previously unheard demo material, it's all crisp and perfectly engineered. It's often said that there are two kinds of people on this earth, Dio fans and DIO fans. If you somehow don't fall into either category, you will withing the first half hour of Dreamers Never Die. It truly is an outstanding piece of film work.Dio: Dreamers Never Die - Oddballs
As a fan of TheOdd1sOut over on YouTube, I really wanted to like Oddballs. However, it just never really clicked for me. That’s partly because, just like with Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun, coincidentally another Netflix offering, what works in a 2 - 5 minute YouTube video doesn’t always translate over to an 18 minute episode of TV. I’ll also admit that I am not in the correct audience for the show’s humor as, while TheOdd1sOut channel on YouTube isn’t ever really 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘵 per say, the humor in the Netflix show is noticeably tamer than what it is based on. There are some definite positives I can give the show, the animation carries over James’ style very well and most of the voice acting is really good, but overall I wasn’t the biggest fan of Oddballs.Oddballs - Blindspot - S1 • E1 - Woe Has Joined
This was a decent pilot episode for the show but nothing super spectacular. The acting is solid across the board but there are definitely some annoying plot contrivances. How convenient it is that she remembers how to fight out of nowhere at the right time, and that somehow the drug didn’t erase the parts of her memory linked to her motors skills. I’m not saying I would have wanted to spend a whole episode watching her learn how to walk and such, but they call attention to it in a way that really makes it stick out.Blindspot - S1 • E1 - Woe Has Joined - Snow White
Race-swapping classic characters doesn’t make your product interesting, it just makes it more out of touch. Also, if the evil queen is supposed to be jealous of her looks, maybe don’t cast a far prettier actress to play the role of the queen. This was a dumb cash grab, even the lead actress didn’t like the character.Snow White
