A classic - first half is extremely memorable, second half drags, always worth an October watch!
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Billy Budd
Boatkino is a rare treat, with a small handful of worthy films reaching such lofty heights. Billy Budd is one of those films - I recommend for anyone who loves the age of sail.

Van Helsing
Flawed but unapologetic romp that’s worth at least one Spooktober watch!

The Magic School Bus
Absolutely classic programming that still holds up. I would happily recommend it to any young inquisitive mind, or a grown-up inquisitive mind looking for a blast from the past (or just enjoys some simple wholesome edutainment). It’s not just heady nostalgia talking - the Magic School Bus is the real deal!

The Trouble with Harry
Autumnal beauty at its best - this is one of Kubricks weaker films in my opinion, as he’s out of his element making a comedy like this, but visually it’s just incredible, and something worth watching every fall
The Trouble with Harry
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
Top 5 movie of all time for me. The coziest mystery thriller you’ll ever watch. I can watch it if I want to watch masterclass acting, if I want to be thrilled and disturbed, or if I want to fall asleep on a cool fall afternoon. It will never understand how it can scratch so many different itches for me
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
Classic autumnal kinography, nostalgic and feel good
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
Happiness
A tough watch, with a parade of deeply flawed characters all trying to get through life and feed their demons. Deeply funny, toe curlingly cringeworthy, and I think impressively bold, particularly for the era it came out in.

The Invite
A nightmare fever dream version of My Dinner With Andre, except Andre is a horny swinger couple and Wallace is a couple on thin ice and the bon mots are whatever the opposite of a bon mot (mal mot?) is. Makes me anxious, makes me laugh, makes me want to go hug my wife.
The Invite
Batman
Delightful camp, iconic scenery, great contrast of the darkness of Gotham and Batman with the splashes of colour provided by Joker and crew. It radiates early 90s nostalgia, leans into a comic book inspired cinematic style in terms of scene framing/pacing, and is unapologetically unique. Back when corniness was soulful instead of slop.
I always consider this as part of a spiritual duology with Barry Lyndon; not truly connected, but I can rarely watch one without watching the other within a few days. Fantastic movie, absolutely beautiful cinematography from start to finish.
