Six best friends talk about all aspects of sex and relationships on their never-ending quest to find true love.
Where to Watch Coupling
- Coupling is still one of my favorite British comedies. Clever, awkward, completely ridiculous at times, and genuinely hilarious. What I love most is how the show takes ordinary dating, relationships, sex, jealousy, and misunderstandings and turns them into these brilliantly constructed disasters. The writing is incredibly sharp, especially when the same situation is shown from completely different male and female perspectives. Jeff alone makes the show worth watching. His ability to turn a perfectly normal conversation into a catastrophic social emergency is comedy gold. One of my absolute favorite moments is the “Jewish girl” scene. The escalating misunderstanding, Jeff’s panic, and the way something so simple spirals completely out of control perfectly sums up what Coupling does best. I can still watch that scene and laugh. The chemistry between the original cast is fantastic, the dialogue is endlessly quotable, and underneath all the madness the characters actually feel like a group of friends you enjoy spending time with. More than 25 years later, Coupling can still make me laugh out loud. British comedy at its best.
