Where to Watch The Haunting
- ZokkiieApril 27, 2026I finished book today. I thought the film was barely okay before, but damn, what a shitty adaption. It throws away all the psychological ambiguity and replaces it with loud, obvious haunted-house stuff that explains way too much. It looks fine, but there’s no real tension or buildup, just effects doing all the work. Even the characters feel reduced to basic horror archetypes, so nothing really sticks and it just feels empty compared to what it should’ve been.
- CharlotteCOSMICSeptember 29, 2026Mostly impressed with the epic choice of film location, definitely isn't a 'house' on a hill.. the building is quite factually larger than a mansion. With awesome interior design. The story is flimsy, as if slapped together from snippets of the interior design of the building with no actually story of such. And the ending was bloody pointless. 10/10 score on scene choice. 2/10 score on story. 7/10 on actors selected.
- Steve ZodiacAugust 12, 2026A disgraceful, idiotic, terrible, waste of time and money! This is arguably the worst remake of a classic movie in the history of the cinema! Lili Taylor proves she has no lead presence, can't carry a film and can't act. Watch the original classic 1963 masterpiece version of "The Haunting" Don't waste your time watching this piece of garbage - you've been warned!
- mattyvxDecember 3, 2025This film is so awful, and surprising considering how well most of the lead actors have done with their careers since this came out. Terrible script with cringeworthy dialogue that can't even convince me that Catherine Zeta Jones is a sex starved bisexual with a wardrobe budget bigger than the combined value of the other actors fees, CGI and locations. Scary movie did it so much better. Special note to the director: Take my strong hand.
