This has to be one of the most touching movies about immigrating in the 21st century and a parabola of salvation by substitution.

The film beautifully captures the deep love and bonding found in small village communities a sense of connection that often feels missing in modern city life. It follows the story of four siblings who escape the Sudanese Civil War to start a new life in the USA, though one brother is tragically left behind. With solid acting and strong direction, this is a highly recommended melodrama that is both moving and eye opening.

The Good Lie is a deeply touching and eye-opening film. It reminds us how privileged many of us are by contrasting two vastly different worlds and highlighting the true value of life’s basic necessities. At its heart, it’s a beautiful story of humanity, kindness, resilience, and hope. The performances feel completely natural, making the emotional journey all the more powerful. A film that will stay with me for a long time.

This is a great movies. My family and I came to the United States in 1994 with some Sudan refugees and we were with the Catholic charities in Phoenix AZ.

All around good movie. It has some funny moments that lean into cultural differences while maintaining the tug at the heart strings soul of the movie. The characters are likable and have enough depth that their losses are felt along the way.
