Definitely aimed at kids, but I actually found it pretty enjoyable. It has that cozy early-'80s fantasy adventure vibe, with forests, weird creatures, practical effects and a lot of Ewoks running around getting into trouble. It doesn't feel much like the main Star Wars movies, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The story is very basic and some of the acting is pretty rough, so there's only so much you can get out of it. Still, it has a certain charm to it, and the old-school effects and atmosphere carry it surprisingly well. Not something I'd call great, but it's a harmless little adventure and an interesting piece of the Star Wars universe.

I first saw The Ewok Adventure on VHS and that format gave it a special kind of charm. It wasn’t a big theatrical Star Wars experience, it felt more intimate, almost like discovering a hidden side story in the galaxy far, far away. The grainy VHS quality, the old school effects and the cozy fantasy tone all blended into something that felt warm and adventurous. The movie had a different rhythm from the main Star Wars films. It leaned into fairy tale storytelling, focusing on kids, creatures and the magic of the forest moon of Endor. Watching it on VHS made it feel like a personal treasure, one of those tapes you’d rewind and revisit because it had a comforting, nostalgic vibe. Even today, it stands out as a unique piece of Star Wars history, a reminder of that era when the franchise experimented with TV movies and expanded the universe in unexpected ways.
