I have to admit a deep affection for haunted house movies. The Evil is a very solid 70s example. The cast is strong, Crenna always sticks the landing and Prine does a nice job. It doesn't speed through the plot, but a good haunted house movie should let you sit in the atmosphere a bit. My only real knock is the finale. It is an abrupt shift and, while Buono is fantastic in his role, the scene doesn't particularly work here. There really isn't anything else special about the film. The script, some dialogue aside, is fine. A bit of a knock for the Felicia character, but that is a modern take. The cinematography is a underwhelming, but it was the 70s. Still, I always enjoy this one. Very rewatchable.
