Where to Watch Onslaught
- Thought it was going to be more of a sniper movie, this was Universal Solider combined with horror movies and it didn't work well. I always take about pace and it wasn't bad, they built the story well and it moved at a good pace. The movie just fell flat with me as the way the hero fought back...they built her up as a gun nut but that didn't come into the action too much until the very end. Glad I watched it...sure, would I watch it again...no, should you watch it, yeah why not.
- “They just can’t stop fucking with us vets.” Apparently 4:20 in Hawaii is the worst time to be alive. Do NOT blaze it 🚬🌳🔥💨 Came into this blind and had no idea about the cast or crew. Kinda made me glad I didn’t die when I broke my foot the other day like I wanted to lolol My heart wants to give it 4 stars but my brain realizes I must temper my feelings to appease the general public. But I had a great time. If Dr. Satan got a military contract, he would be Dr. Hans Kammler The sequel House of 1000 Corpses needed! While still doing The Devil’s Rejects after of course. VelJohnson even had the spirit of Captain Spaulding! Old school slasher vibes. What’s scarier than Michael Myers? Three Michael Myers!! Eric was perfect comedic casting. His character not bringing his radio was silly. But the dude threatening to take full custody as he throws his daughter into the forced arms of her mother is even sillier. The song Kovacka was listening to was so fucking funny Love it when soldiers hate other soldiers that are too obedient or apparently stayed obedient a little too long Weird story to tell your daughter! Even weirder time to finish it! These super soldiers take forever to formulate and execute a plan. Kinda akin to the real military huh! I do prefer that over haste decision making tho ftr lmao Incredibly gratuitous violence for some impenetrable skin! Mindless violence, just as displayed in the film! Very on topic! Love too see Wingard, Barrett, and Stevens still working together and even teaming up with A24! It has some You’re Next pacing and The Guest vibes (helped by a similar score iirc! + the To Live & Die in LA score) In terms of being a conspiracy theorist I think it goes: Adam>Dan>Simon Watched at Warren Regal 21 Currently Ranked #61/151 in 2026 Ranked Added to 24 Hour Movie People
- You know those type of movies you put on a little too late on a week night and even though you have to work the next day, you stay up past bedtime to finish it because the story is so captivating you have to know how it ends? ….this ain’t that type of movie. I had zero issues turning it off early and going to bed. Still haven’t finished and don’t really even want to. I really was excited for this movie when I first heard about it and it could’ve been pretty darn cool but the script is just terrible. Production wise - pretty interesting but couldn’t be helped the underwhelming plot or lack there of.
- There’s not much going for Onslaught aside from a killer synth soundtrack (and a sick Chat Pile needle drop 🔥). It’s fitting that the meandering plot and lackluster script is so disjointed that it feels like its own Frankenstein’s monster considering the subject matter. Ultimately, there’s just not enough cohesion here to recommend.
