Despite his devotion to his hometown of Salem (and its Halloween celebration), Hubie Dubois is a figure of mockery for kids and adults alike. But this year, something is going bump in the night, and it's up to Hubie to save Halloween.

I just watched Hubie Halloween and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. This movie is the definition of fun, comfort, and heart. It is one of those movies that does not try to be serious or deep. It just wants to make you smile and feel good, and it completely succeeds. I had such a great time watching it. It reminded me of why I love Halloween so much — the costumes, the lights, the decorations, and the feeling of community that comes with it. Adam Sandler brings his classic charm and kindness to the role of Hubie. He is awkward, goofy, and misunderstood, but that is exactly what makes him lovable. What stands out most is that, underneath all the jokes, the movie has a message about kindness and believing in yourself. It is about staying true to who you are even when people make fun of you. Hubie never gives up on helping others, and that kind of heart makes the movie special. The comedy is silly but in the best way. It feels like an old-school Halloween party where everyone is just having fun. The cameos and familiar faces add a nostalgic touch, especially for anyone who grew up watching Adam Sandler movies. The setting is perfect too. The small town full of pumpkins, haunted houses, and autumn colors makes it feel warm and cozy. What I really love is how it never loses its good energy. Even with all the chaos, it keeps a positive tone that makes it easy to watch over and over again. It is a perfect background movie for the Halloween season. It is not about scares — it is about fun and togetherness. By the end, I realized Hubie Halloween is more than just a comedy. It is a movie with heart that celebrates being kind even when people do not understand you. It shows that being different can actually be your greatest strength. It left me smiling, and honestly, that is all I could ask for.

🎃 My Review of Hubie Halloween 🎃 I absolutely loved Hubie Halloween from start to finish. I know this movie gets mixed reviews, but for me, this is one of those movies where the ratings really don’t matter. It’s just a fun, cozy, feel-good Halloween movie. One of my favorite things is actually the very beginning. I love how the movie introduces Salem and takes you through the neighborhood with all the fall colors, older homes, Halloween decorations and that small-town New England atmosphere. Salem already has so much history connected to witches and Halloween, so it feels like the perfect setting. Right from the opening scenes, the movie puts you into that October/Halloween mood. And apparently I’m definitely not alone in feeling that way. I’ve seen other people describe Hubie Halloween as a comfort movie that they watch every October. Some people even say they put it on multiple times during the Halloween season just because they love having that atmosphere in the background. I completely understand that now. Adam Sandler’s Hubie is ridiculous, awkward and completely over the top — but that’s part of the charm. 😂 The movie never pretends that it’s supposed to be some serious horror movie. It’s silly on purpose. You’ve got Steve Buscemi, Kevin James, Julie Bowen, Maya Rudolph, Rob Schneider, Kenan Thompson, Ray Liotta and all these familiar faces popping up throughout the movie. It almost feels like a Halloween party with Adam Sandler and his friends. But underneath all the stupidity and jokes, there’s actually a really sweet story. Hubie genuinely cares about Salem and the people living there even though practically the entire town treats him terribly. He’s the guy everyone makes fun of, yet when something actually goes wrong, he’s still the person trying to protect everybody. There’s something really likable about that. What really makes the movie for me, though, is the atmosphere. The decorated houses. 🎃 The leaves and fall colors. 🍂 Kids trick-or-treating. 🍬 Costumes everywhere. 👻 The nighttime streets. The pumpkin patches. The Halloween parties. The little bit of mystery and suspense without becoming genuinely scary. It captures that childhood feeling of Halloween when the entire day felt special. That’s probably why I would describe Hubie Halloween as cozy Halloween comfort food. You don’t have to analyze it. You don’t have to take it seriously. You can sit back, relax, laugh at the stupidity and enjoy being transported to this exaggerated little version of Salem where seemingly everybody is obsessed with Halloween. Is it sophisticated comedy? Absolutely not. 😂 Some jokes are incredibly childish and Hubie’s voice alone is probably enough to drive some people crazy. I completely understand why somebody might watch this and think it’s terrible. But sometimes a movie doesn’t have to be technically brilliant to accomplish exactly what you want from it. Hubie Halloween made me laugh, made me feel good and gave me that warm, nostalgic Halloween feeling from beginning to end. And that’s exactly what I wanted. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 for me. Definitely going onto my list of movies to watch again around Halloween. 🎃🍂👻
