Where to Watch Coyote vs. Acme
- It’s kind of insane the parallels between the real life drama behind the scenes of this film, and the story within the movie itself. Setting aside the real life David and Goliath story that is ‘ketchup entertainment’ acquiring this project, it is an honestly hilarious movie. I went with a group of friends and we were genuinely laughing for a decent chunk of the film. There’s some terrific slapstick, great non sequitur’s, modern commentary, and excellent visual gags wrapped up in a surprisingly heartfelt story. If I’m being picky, there’s definitely some issues with 3D model rigging with some of the cartoon characters and pacing issues in the final stretch. They probably could’ve shaved down the ending and honestly, the animation most of the time is fairly good. Was nice to see some hand animated segments too! (Not counting the archival stuff) Easily the best live action-animated hybrid since who framed Roger Rabbit and a superb celebration of the legacy of Looney Tunes.
- zaslav needs to rot in hell for shelving this. a very poignant film that says corporate greed and consumerist passivity and apathy lead to the suffering and deaths of many, and it starts with the marginalized. the gags are great, even if the 3d animation feels out of place with the real world environments and actors at times. bugs bunny looked the best, and his entire The Cowboy from mulholland drive that eats and puts out carrots like cigarettes bit had me rolling.
- Expected a silly popcorn flick; got a slapstick masterclass instead. Coyote vs. Acme takes a simple story and delivers many laughs, with Wile E. Coyote completely stealing the show. His hilarious mix of silent expressiveness, inflated ego, and unshakeable persistence pays off in comedic gold. Packed with classic Loony Tunes gags, this is an absolute must-watch on the big screen. I hope they release a Blu-Ray of this eventually.
- Good to see old friends (though they did Pepe Le Pew wrong and had Foghorn Leghorn FAR more 'evil Alabama plantation owner' than the original character). If you asked me if this movie entertained me, the answer is 'no'. I knew better than to expect too much from a remake, but not watching it would've been a mistake. Anyway, shitty cast (except Luis Guzman, who is perfectly Luis Guzman in every role). The storyline sucked, but they tried. Looney Tunes has been dead for generations; it should probably stay that way. 😔 Two stars, and one of them was solely for the memories. So much for nostalgia.
- Not the best Looney Tunes movie, but not the worst. I wish they had gone full Roger Rabbit and hand-animated the characters instead of being the CG imitations--there are some character models that look "off" because of it. There's are some pretty good twists and turns in here you don't expect, and some interesting messages about equality under the law and the intentional en"crap"ification of our services in the modern age. These get a bit forgivably garbled as they try and articulate them more explicitly for its younger audience. I wish that some of the humor was slightly less edgy (heavily implying cuss words or using sexual innuendo) given that little kids will be watching it, but most of it will go over their head and adults feel differently about this. Overall, I don't quite understand the hype on this one (despite being a pretty big LT fan), but would still recommend!
- The second my feet hit the floor after school, I’d run straight home to the TV, rushing to catch The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour. For one magical hour, those colorful characters weren't just cartoons they were my closest friends, filling a quiet house with laughter and keeping me company when I needed it most. It was the only thing in the world I cared to watch. and as soon as the credits rolled, I’d step outside into the afternoon sun to play, carrying a piece of that warmth with me for the rest of the day.
