Good cast & the storyline was quite good. Not a classic, but worth a look.
  • This is a great movie directed by Ben Affleck and with him also being the main character. It doesn't take long to get going and doesn't dip at all. The storyline is good and the cast don't disappoint either. Although Matt Damon was originally cast for this movie but dropped out to be in The Odyssey. I'm going to be honest, I can't really see where he would've got in this one. There was nothing wrong with this cast at all and I thought everyone was good in it. If you like a good high stakes kidnapping movie, here's another one for you to watch.

A Tense, Gripping Thriller That Shows How Politicians Handle Crisis. Animals is a fantastic movie that grabs your attention right from the start and doesn't let go until the credits roll. The whole plot takes place over one crazy night where a mayoral candidate faces a nightmare scenario involving the kidnapping of his child. The tension and suspense building in this movie is excellent. Anchored by stellar performances, sharp dialogues, and a realistic tone free of mass masala fluff.
  • Terrible overacting made this not beleivable and sort of annoying. Didn’t know you could make a bad movie, Batflick…guess there’s a first time for everything. But then again, production value is there and plenty of worse movies out there.

I always like Ben Afflick, and this film was no different. That said, the story was just average and the ending left a little too much to interprtation. I also felt that tue wife’s affair was a distraction and I also felt that Gilliam Anderson was underutilized.
  • Outstanding move! The story, acting, and pacing were all great. Easily one of Ben Affleck's better performances.
  • I went into Animals hoping for something decent, but it was an absolute slog to get through. The story is completely predictable, the pacing drags forever, and none of the characters are likeable or believable. Every time the plot tried to build tension or deliver a big twist, it just felt forced and ridiculous. The acting felt completely checked-in, and even the actors couldn't save how weak the dialogue was. Halfway through, I was already checking my watch waiting for it to end. Save yourself the headache and skip this one—it’s not even bad in a fun way, just genuinely boring.
  • If you’re looking for a heart-pounding thriller, put away the anxiety meds and the ice cream—you’ll come away empty-handed. However, if you’re in the mood for a night on the couch to see how two lies and a bit of propaganda turn an ordinary politician into a superhero, give it a chance. Rating: a very generous 6.5. It’s fun for the evening, but by the next morning, you’ll have already forgotten even the title.
  • Did anyone else watch this because you wanted to see which shots were AI created? The story was already done before but some good acting. I did not see the twist end coming. There is a shot with a red wagon going off a jump, that was definitely AI. I'm sure B roll is more forgiving to AI shots.
  • BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING
  • A deeply disappointing and uninspired film from a director who previously delivered The Town and Argo. Borrowing heavily from Kurosawa’s High and Low, Animals feels like a soulless, studio-manufactured exercise. Its diversity and social commentary, while welcome in principle, feel artificially constructed rather than organically woven into the characters and narrative. Everything is excessively polished, yet strangely lifeless. Awful editing, cringeworthy dialogue, rigid performances, and characters lacking genuine emotional depth. There's no passion, no authenticity, no cinematic soul. Affleck seems to be directing on autopilot, delivering what may be his weakest work to date. A film that tries desperately to appear relevant but forgets the most essential ingredient: humanity.
  • It had some good emotional scenes, but the storyline seemed to be to easily contrived at the end. The plausibility and the quick scene changes made took away from the realism. It's almost as if one made a checklist of what you want the audience to feel when watching it, then you stringed together a series of 'parts' to climax to those. It felt a bit disjointed from reality.
